Harvest price increase 2026: what changed and what to do

Harvest renewals now combine a per-seat fee with usage-based charges. If your renewal email surprised you, here's what changed, a quick calculator, and your options before the renewal date.

What changed

• Usage fees on top of seats. After the Bending Spoons acquisition (2025), Harvest pricing became a seat fee plus usage-based charges tied to activity such as projects, clients, tasks and invoicing. Customers choose between a variable "Flex" option and a fixed "Unlimited" usage fee (Subscription Insider).
• It hits at renewal. Existing customers see the new price when their plan renews, so notices keep arriving month after month as annual plans come up.
• Some increases are large. Publicly reported renewals include a freelancer going from about $211 to about $2,548 a year, and small agencies seeing monthly bills rise 4–10×.

Your options before renewal

1. Ask Harvest for a discount. Several customers report being offered large discounts when they started to cancel. It's worth asking — just check what happens at the following renewal.
2. Trim usage. Archiving unused projects, clients and tasks can lower usage-based charges.
3. Switch tools. If you want predictable pricing, move before the renewal date. Export a full backup first (here's how), then import into the new tool and compare totals.

If you switch: avoid the two common mistakes

• Not reconciling. Compare hours and billable amounts per project between Harvest and the new tool before cancelling. Feestead does this automatically after import.
