Switching from Harvest, step by step
Most teams are done in under 15 minutes. Run Harvest and Feestead side by side until the reconciliation report is all green.
1. Create a Harvest personal access token
In Harvest, go to id.getharvest.com/developers → Create new personal access token. Copy the token and your Account ID. An administrator's token is best — it can see everyone's time.
2. Import
Sign up, open Import, paste both values. We read (never write) your users, clients, tasks, projects, task assignments and all time entries. Large accounts with years of history take a few minutes.
3. Check the reconciliation report
For every project we compare Harvest's hours, number of entries and billable amount with what's now in Feestead. Anything that doesn't match is listed first, with the difference.
4. Re-run on cut-over day
Imports are idempotent: run it again right before you cancel to pick up the latest entries and edits — nothing is duplicated.
5. Point your scripts and integrations at Feestead
Replace https://api.harvestapp.com/v2/ with https://<your Feestead host>/v2/, use a Feestead token from Settings, and keep sending Harvest-Account-Id (your Feestead account ID).
curl https://YOUR-HOURWELL-HOST/v2/time_entries?from=2026-01-01 \ -H "Authorization: Bearer hw_..." \ -H "Harvest-Account-Id: 1"
Supported today: users, company, clients, tasks, projects, task assignments, project assignments and time entries (incl. timers: restart/stop). Invoices, estimates and expenses aren't part of Feestead yet.
