The best Harvest alternatives in 2026, with real prices
Updated 2026-10-21 · Written by the Feestead team
Harvest now charges per seat plus usage fees for things like projects, clients and invoices. If your renewal quote jumped, here are six tools worth a look. We make one of them (Feestead), so we've stuck to what each vendor publishes on its own pricing page and said where another tool is the better fit.

Prices are from each vendor's public pricing page in October 2026, in USD unless noted. "Not advertised" means we couldn't find a direct Harvest importer on the vendor's site; you can still move data with Harvest's CSV exports.
1. Feestead — closest to how Harvest used to work
Feestead is a time tracker built specifically for teams leaving Harvest: the same timer, weekly timesheet, project budgets, and project/task/person rates, at $11 per person with no fees per project, client, task or invoice. Switchers get today's price locked for 24 months.
- One-click Harvest import of people, clients, tasks, projects, rates and every time entry, followed by a reconciliation of entry counts, hours and billable amounts for each project.
- Harvest-compatible API for time data, so existing scripts mostly need a new base URL.
- Not included: built-in invoices with online payments, expenses, estimates. You export unbilled time as invoice lines for QuickBooks or Xero.
2. Toggl Track — the best-known timer
Toggl has excellent desktop, mobile and browser apps and a generous free plan for up to 3 users. Billable rates start on Starter ($9 per user per month annually, $12 monthly). It's a great fit if your team mainly needs to track time and you don't depend on Harvest-style budgets and invoicing. Moving history from Harvest means working with CSV exports.
3. Clockify — lowest price per seat
Clockify's free plan covers core time tracking, and paid plans run from $3.99 to $7.99 per seat per month annually. Billable rates start on Basic; invoicing needs Standard ($5.49 annually). If price per seat is the main concern and you're comfortable rebuilding projects by hand, it's hard to beat.
4. actiTIME — cheap, with a self-hosted option
actiTIME Online is free for 1–3 users with limited features and $6 per user per month (billed yearly) for 1–40 users. There's also a self-hosted edition with a one-time licence. The interface is more timesheet-and-approvals than Harvest's, which some managers prefer.
5. solidtime — open source
solidtime is an open-source time tracker you can self-host for free, or use in the cloud: free for one user and €8 per user per month (annually) for Professional, which adds rates, billing and invoicing. A good pick if data ownership matters more than migration convenience.
6. Invoisin — if invoicing is the main job
Invoisin is invoicing-first software with time tracking, flat per-seat pricing and a Harvest importer that brings over invoices and payments as well as time. If Harvest was mainly your invoicing tool, look here first.
How to choose
- You want nothing to change for the team and need history and integrations intact → Feestead.
- You mostly need a great timer → Toggl Track.
- Lowest cost per seat matters most → Clockify or actiTIME.
- You want to self-host → solidtime or actiTIME Self-Hosted.
- Invoices and payments are the core → Invoisin, or stay on Harvest.
Whatever you pick, export your Harvest data before you cancel, and run your numbers through the price calculator first — for some small teams Harvest is still reasonable.
